Louis Vuitton Celebrates 130 Years of Its Monogram with Limited-Edition Collection

The House is launching a yearlong tribute to its signature canvas, honoring one of the most recognisable emblems in luxury history
Few symbols in fashion hold the cultural weight of the Louis Vuitton Monogram. Designed in 1896 by Georges Vuitton as a tribute to his father, Louis, the founder of the Maison, the pattern has come to define the brand’s identity. From handbags and leather goods to suitcases, shoes, garments, and even building façades, the Monogram has stood the test of time for over a century and become of of fashion’s most iconic emblems.

As it turns 130 this year, the Maison reflects on its influence. For many, the Monogram means more than a logo. It can mark the first purchase of an LV bag and the sense of achievement that comes with it, or its influence inpopular culture, where its logo, often referenced in music, has become a universal language of status and success.

With that in mind, Louis Vuitton has launched a yearlong celebration, revisiting some of its most recognisable designs to mark the milestone. Among them are the Louis Vuitton Speedy, Louis Vuitton Keepall, Louis Vuitton Noe, Louis Vuitton Alma and Louis Vuitton Neverfull, each long associated with the House’s heritage.

The brand will also introduce a Monogram Anniversary Collection featuring special-edition pieces that reinterpret the emblem. The Monogram Origine Collection revisits the original 1896 motif through a newly developed canvas. The VVN Collection pays tribute to Louis Vuitton’s leather craftsmanship, while the Time Trunk Collection draws on the House’s trunk-making history, using trompe-l’oeil printing to recreate the textures and metal detailing of its early designs.
Below is a preview of the limited-edition styles created to mark the Maison’s milestone, underscoring that LV remains as luxurious and desirable as ever.
