Diorissima: Dior Joaillerie Unveils a New Haute Joaillerie Universe Through Fantasy, Nature, and Creative Freedom

Christian Dior’s visionary imagination enters a new chapter through Diorissima, the latest Haute Joaillerie collection by Victoire de Castellane. Since 1999, the Artistic Director of Dior Joaillerie has continuously explored the poetic and narrative dimensions of Dior’s singular creative legacy, reinterpreting it with her own distinctive sense of audacity and invention. This year, she presents an unprecedented collection that brings together abstraction and naturalism in a world shaped by fantasy and extraordinary craftsmanship.

At the heart of Diorissima unfolds a dreamlike triptych three distinct universes revealed one after another. Together, they express Christian Dior’s fascination with the richness of life, from flora and fauna to his more personal, imaginative vision of otherworldly beauty.

The first world opens into abundant greenery, where lush landscapes emerge through decorative interpretations of clover, cascading wisteria, and abundant bunches of fruit. The second enters an aquatic realm, fluid and luminous, immersed in scintillating shades of blue and animated by fish, coral, seaweed, and delicate bubbles. Finally, the collection ascends into a celestial landscape, where radiant suns, hypnotic eclipses, and joyful clouds create unexpected gemstone compositions across the sky.

Throughout the collection, Victoire de Castellane continues her fascination with collage a signature artistic approach translated into jewellery through whimsical juxtapositions, cut-outs, colour play, and layered forms. Each piece appears almost as a cabinet of curiosities, opening into unexpected visual narratives and fantastical scenes.

The collection includes necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, earcuffs, and brooches, comprising 141 creations, with 112 unveiled in the first chapter. Across the collection, vibrant gemstone combinations reveal remarkable depth of colour and celebrate a bold sense of creative freedom enriched by playful opulence.

Demonstrating the exceptional savoir-faire of Dior’s ateliers, many pieces are crafted using the doublet technique, in which one fine stone is layered over another such as opal over chrysoprase, creating subtle chromatic gradations and remarkable visual depth. Executed through a succession of highly precise artisanal gestures, this technique transforms Victoire de Castellane’s vision into wearable works of art.

Another signature element of Dior Joaillerie appears through lacquer delicately worked to alternate between opacity and transparency. Capturing and reflecting light with nuanced colour variations, the lacquer intensifies each composition and enhances the chromatic richness that defines the collection.

Through Diorissima, Dior Joaillerie once again transforms jewellery into narrative, craftsmanship into imagination, and gemstones into an expression of the enduring Dior dream.
