Global pop star Dua Lipa has unveiled an extraordinary custom Haute Couture wedding dress created by CHANEL, marking a historic moment for the iconic fashion house. The bridal creation is the first CHANEL Haute Couture wedding dress designed by Matthieu Blazy for a friend of the House, reflecting the close relationship between the artist and the legendary maison.

Handcrafted in CHANEL’s renowned ateliers at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris, the gown is a celebration of exceptional craftsmanship and the expertise of the House’s celebrated Maisons d’art. Specialist ateliers Montex, Lemarié, and Lesage collaborated to create a masterpiece that blends intricate embroidery, delicate featherwork, and couture artistry.

The dress itself is entirely hand-embroidered with an astonishing 480,000 beads by Atelier Montex, while Lesage artisans spent 1,155 hours creating trompe l’oeil jewel embellishments that add remarkable depth and brilliance to the design. A dramatic two-metre train is elegantly highlighted with 25,000 hand-applied feathers crafted by Lemarié, giving the gown a light and ethereal finish.

Complementing the bridal look is a breathtaking six-metre tulle veil featuring poetic motifs of birds and flowers. Embellished with beads, feathers, and hand-cut organza appliqués, the veil required more than 3,000 hours of meticulous handwork by Atelier Montex and Lemarié, showcasing the extraordinary level of detail behind the couture creation.

The ensemble was completed with custom-made white satin pumps by Massaro, perfectly matching the refined elegance of the gown.
