50 Years in Motion: Chopard’s Happy Diamonds
In the mid-1970s, Chopard reimagined the codes of watch and jewellery making, following the shifting times that were characterised by women's empowerment and liberalisation of society. Built on the idea that diamonds are happier when they’re free, Happy Diamonds is an ode to the free spirit of independent women.

Since its invention in 1976, the collection has celebrated the irresistible joie de vivre, each design rooted in sustainable practices, using 100% ethical gold. Celebrating 50 years of the monumental invention, the maison introduces the new Happy Sport The First timepieces and Happy Diamonds jewels.

First introduced three decades ago by Chopard co-president and artistic director Caroline Scheufele, Happy Sport has remained an emblem of effortless elegance. The collection introduced the groundbreaking combination of steel and diamonds and was designed by a woman for women. The original designs were inspired by sunlight shimmering across the spray of cascading waters of a Black Forest waterfall, where the diamonds were freed from their traditional setting, allowing them to move freely at the heart of the watches.

Today, the design carries the same spirit it once held, one that is defined by its intuitive modernity rooted in comfort and elegant simplicity. The iconic model is reborn in two diameters of 26 mm and 33 mm, refined yet effortlessly wearable. Soft proportions, fluid lines, and a sensual second-skin feel define the silhouette, while the signature happy diamonds continue to shimmer with irrepressible joy.

The latest Happy Diamonds creations explore the subtle tension between structure and freedom, introducing a series of pendants defined by a refined rectangular silhouette, where the precision of the lines becomes the dancing stage. First introduced in 2006, the rectangular Happy Diamonds are presented with a renewed lightness. The interior space within which the diamond dances has been expanded, offering greater freedom of movement.
The philosophy behind Happy Diamonds finds its full expression in its latest campaign, where the Maison’s ambassadors embody the spirit of freedom and movement, their presence echoing the natural fluidity of Happy Diamonds and placing movement at the very heart of this new chapter.
