The New Bag Edit: Six New Styles to Know This Season

A new season brings a new line-up of bags, but Autumn/Winter 2026 is proving that there is no single silhouette defining the moment. Instead, designers are looking at everything from sculptural leather and relaxed proportions to archival house signatures and familiar designs reworked.

From Polène’s entirely new Shuldo to LOEWE’s playful Whisker, these are six of the latest bags worth knowing.

    Polène Shuldo

Polène introduces an entirely new silhouette with Shuldo, a softly structured shoulder bag designed to sit naturally against the body.

Its seemingly effortless shape is the result of more than a year of prototyping, with the French house refining the proportions, curves and folds to balance sculptural structure with natural softness. Each bag is constructed using 33 individual leather panels, alongside hand-painted edges and eight hand-sewn stitching points reinforcing the handle.

Available in seven shades including Black Cherry, Desert, Mist and Linden, Shuldo brings Polène’s meticulous approach to leatherwork into a silhouette that feels relaxed enough for everyday wear.

    Moynat M Collection in Anthracite

Moynat looks to its archives for the latest evolution of its M Collection, introducing the house’s historic monogram in a new anthracite colourway.

The M motif dates back to the early 1900s, when Henri Rapin introduced the monogram and it was hand-painted onto the canvas of Moynat’s trunks. More than a century later, the darker anthracite palette gives the recognisable pattern a quieter and more contemporary feel.

The new colourway runs across the collection’s totes, Hobo bags and moon bags in a range of sizes, bringing an archival house signature into the present.

    LOEWE Whisker

Among LOEWE’s new Fall/Winter 2026 arrivals is the Whisker, a completely new silhouette combining a relaxed body with a more structured handle.

Its defining detail is an elongated zipper that extends beyond the body of the bag, giving the otherwise simple shape an unexpected finish. The Whisker is offered in soft glazed calfskin as well as checked leather intarsia, with seasonal colourways adding another playful element to the design.

It is the kind of bag that looks straightforward from a distance but reveals more personality the closer you look, fitting neatly into LOEWE’s continued focus on craftsmanship with a slightly unconventional edge.

    Dior Toujours Hobo

Jonathan Anderson has turned his attention to one of Dior’s established house signatures, reinterpreting the Toujours for Autumn/Winter 2026-27 as a new sculptural hobo.

The curved silhouette keeps recognisable Dior details including Cannage and the CD Lock clasp, but introduces a softer, more generous shape. An adjustable and removable strap allows it to be carried by hand, over the shoulder or crossbody, giving the design a more relaxed approach to everyday dressing.

Available in variations including lambskin and suede goatskin, the Toujours Hobo manages to feel familiar while signalling a new direction for one of the house’s best-known bag families.

    Balenciaga Hourglass Avenue

Balenciaga revisits its recognisable Hourglass shape for Winter 2026 with the Hourglass Avenue, introducing a more refined take on the house’s curved silhouette.

Crafted in shiny box calfskin, the bag features a curvilinear base, top handle and removable crossbody strap. Rather than relying on prominent hardware, the closure carries an engraved Balenciaga logo alongside the address of the house’s 10 Avenue George V location in Paris.

Appearing in the Winter 2026 collection in colours including black, raisin, red and white, the new design gives the familiar Hourglass line a more polished and understated identity.

    Mulberry Stevie

Mulberry introduces the Stevie, an entirely new bag family launched in September 2026.

Available in both regular and small sizes, the design places the house’s signature Postman’s Lock at the centre of a clean, versatile silhouette. It can be carried from the top handle for a more polished look or worn over the shoulder, making it one of the most adaptable additions to the new season.

The accompanying campaign, photographed in New York by Stevie Dance, leans into the name with a cast made up entirely of people called Stevie, bringing a playful element to an otherwise understated new house signature.

From entirely new silhouettes to archival signatures seen through a different lens, this season’s newest bags are less about following one dominant shape and more about finding something with character. Whether that comes through Polène’s intricate folds, LOEWE’s elongated zipper or Dior’s reworked hobo, the best new arrivals prove that individuality is firmly back on the agenda.
