The SS27 Collections that Defined Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week has officially wrapped up, delivering yet another brilliant seasonal showcase. Throughout the week, designers and houses presented collections that were rooted in heritage and yet presented a modern outlook.

Before the focus shifts to Paris Fashion Week, here are our favourite runway shows from Milan.

    Ferragamo

At Ferragamo, Maximilian Davis looked to the 1940s, translating the decade’s practical yet liberated wardrobe into his increasingly assured vision for the house. High-waisted tailoring appeared with strong belts, military-inspired pockets and utility vests, giving the collection a purposeful, defined shape.

Davis softened that structure with looped silk, leather trains and draped sequin gowns, bringing fluidity and sensuality into the sharper tailoring. Translucent rubber, sleek leather shirts and high-shine python added a subtle, provocative tension. The accessories reinforced Ferragamo’s dialogue between archival references and contemporary design, with sculptural F-wedge heels, an updated Vara bow, and new takes on the Cara and Hug bags.

    Tod’s

    Tod's SS27 - Look 25

Matteo Tamburini’s “Italian Attitude” for Tod’s SS27 was a celebration of the Italian love for beauty and the simple pleasures in life. As expected, leather was central to the collection, expressed through exceptionally soft Pashmy hides, perforated finishes, supple nappa and Windsilk trench coats.

The palette was grounded in natural and burnt shades, accented by saffron yellow, red and horizon blue. Tod’s signature Gommino motif appeared throughout, extending beyond footwear to outerwear and handbags. New silhouettes included an elongated Bilbao loafer, a sneaker-ballerina hybrid and selleria-inspired pieces accented with metal dots. The Cindy Bag, the evolved Di Bag, and the customisable My Signature also made a return.

    Bottega Veneta

With the latest SS27 collection, Louise Trotter brought a new lightness to Bottega Veneta’s celebrated language of craftsmanship. Showcased in an almost stark white space, furnished with resin-coated cardboard stools by artist Illya Goldman Gubin.

The opening was deliberately restrained, led by neutral tones and refined proportions before richer textures and colour accents entered the mix. Trotter explored the brand’s iconic Intrecciato technique alongside Venetian lace, crochet and fringe, creating clothes that felt tactile, airy and in motion. Clean trousers, lace-up footwear and softly structured outerwear introduced a practicality, ensuring the collection was suited to everyday dressing.

    Gucci

Demna unveiled his first complete creative vision for Gucci with “The Store Show", a collection that explored the tension between polish, provocation and eccentricity that has long shaped the house.

Opening looks suggested an exaggerated country-club elegance, pairing skin-tight Jodhpur trousers with upturned-collar shirts and riding boots. After which crisp tailoring, sharp collars, pencil skirts and capri trousers came along, in controlled silhouettes. A playful disruption followed with rugby shirts, pleated tartan skirts and puffed bomber jackets introducing a youthful energy, styled with triple-horsebit belts and layers of accessories. Supermodels Alex Consani, Anok Yai, and Candice Swanepoel closed the runway wearing fluid-draped gowns.

    Giorgio Armani

    Giorgio Armani SS27 - Look 8

Giorgio Armani’s SS27 collection, titled "Evolution", marked Silvana Armani’s second season at the creative helm. Rather than radically revising the house’s most recognisable strengths like refined tailoring, fluid eveningwear and a quietly sophisticated palette, Armani sharpened them.

Crystal embellishment and sequins elevated otherwise understated looks, while blazers and jackets referenced 1980s power dressing through sharp shoulders. Accessories, including compact pouches, clutches, loafers, heeled sandals and flat neoprene boots, allowed the collection to transition from daytime to evening naturally.

    Dolce & Gabbana

    Dolce & Gabbana SS27 - Look 76

Dolce & Gabbana leaned fully into its exuberant world with “Stravaganza Siciliana", a collection rooted in the house’s rich Sicilian heritage. Across the collection, the house was unapologetic in its eccentricity, pairing tweed with leopard prints, turning tablecloth checks into bloomers and bra tops, and transforming crochet doilies into skirts and dresses.

The house’s enduring signatures remained intact, including animal prints, black lingerie-inspired looks, and embellished denim. Lace slips were enhanced with beads and fringe, while jewellery, bags and footwear added a contemporary edge to the looks.
