Dubai’s New Literary Consultancy Brings Books Into Hospitality Design

A new literary consultancy, Chapter, is launching in the Middle East, built on the belief that great books, thoughtfully placed, can shape how we experience a space.

Working with hotels, hospitality destinations, private residences, members’ clubs and cultural spaces, Chapter aims to create bespoke book collections shaped by the places they belong to. From a bedside collection to a library at the heart of a hotel, each is curated around its setting, audience and sense of place.

Guest experiences are often linked to the architecture, art, food, music, and design of hotels and destinations across the region. Chapter believes books deserve the same consideration. Rather than treating a library as something added once a space is complete, Chapter works alongside hoteliers, developers, architects and interior designers to consider how books can become an integral part of its identity.

Founded in Dubai by Shadi Moazami, Chapter brings together expertise built over 17 years spent working within travel, hospitality and communications in the Middle East. “Some of the most memorable hospitality experiences are defined by the smallest details, the elements that give a space character and connect it to where you are. Books have an incredible ability to do that. With Chapter, we want to give the same consideration as art, design or music, creating collections that add depth to a space, encourage discovery and become a meaningful part of the guest experience", he notes.

Its work extends beyond the bookshelf through author conversations, intimate salons, readings, book clubs, literary retreats and cultural partnerships. These experiences are designed to bring collections to life, encourage discovery and connect guests with writers, ideas and stories.

The consultancy aims to bring together global literature with regional voices and stories, creating collections that reflect both the wider world and the distinct character of each location.
