A Closer Look at Day 8 of Paris Fashion Week

Before the final day, Paris Fashion Week on Monday brought together a thoughtful mix of runway presentations. Moving between heritage craftsmanship and romantic expressions, the collections looked at the past while also bringing new ideas for the season ahead.

Here are the standout runways from Day 8.

    Chanel

    Chanel SS27 - Look 7

Tracing Gabrielle Chanel’s journey through time, Matthieu Blazy’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection explored the house’s iconic silhouettes. Starting the runway with a sheer white dress inspired by the jersey-underwear and styled with Chanel’s own 2.55 bag, the look set the tone for the collection to unfold.

Chanel’s iconic pencil-skirt suits, drop-waist dresses, and relaxed formal gowns made their way down the runway in new renditions. Matthieu Blazy’s new “smoked tweed” is the hero invention on the runway, a stretch fabric that carries that tweed texture yet offers added movement.

    Zimmermann

    Zimmermann SS27 - Look 13

Zimmerman brought a more whimsical mood to the runway with a collection inspired by butterflies. The opening look paired a cropped top with a full skirt covered in butterfly and floral details, immediately establishing the show’s romantic tone. Flowing dresses and delicate yet sculptural tops followed in warm neutral colours.

The butterfly theme became bolder throughout the show, appearing as three-dimensional detail on sheer gowns, denim, lace pieces and handbags. The softer designs were contrasted by tailored trousers, structured denims, and sharp satin dresses in darker shades. The runway closed with a deep golden ruffle gown in delicate fabric that moved dramatically as the model walked.

    Gabriela Hearst

Shedding spotlight on Afghan craftsmanship and regional women artisans, Gabriela Hearst’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection carried a breezy, relaxed aesthetic with a contemporary edge. The runway began with understated tailoring, rendered in muted, earthy tones. Colourful Ikat patchworks and small mirror embroideries appeared across jackets and dresses.

Quilted leather, knitted lace, and embroidered fluid dresses added texture to the collection. A standout piece, a flowy embroidered dress in cream, was paired with an ikat patchwork long jacket. The final white look, finished with delicate embroidery, offered a calm and elegant conclusion to the runway.
