Souraya Noujaim Appointed Director of Louvre Abu Dhabi
The art historian and curator, who previously spent five years at the museum, will lead it into its 10th anniversary year.
Louvre Abu Dhabi has named Souraya Noujaim as its new director, bringing back a familiar figure to the museum where she once oversaw curatorial and collections work for five years.
The appointment, announced by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, comes as the museum prepares to mark its 10th anniversary in 2027.
Noujaim returns from Paris, where she most recently directed the Department of Islamic Arts at the Musée du Louvre and served as chief of the French Grand Department of Islamic Art Heritage. An art historian and curator, she specialises in Islamic art history and archaeology.
