Cartier’s Jewelled Bags, Now Seven More
Cartier has expanded its collection of jewelled bags with seven new limited-edition pieces designed for special occasions. Created as part of the Maison’s evening collections, the accessories celebrate Cartier’s creative heritage while bringing together the worlds of leather goods and high jewellery.

Each bag is conceived through the eye of a jeweller. Cartier uses semi-precious stones, rare materials and meticulous craftsmanship to transform the pieces into miniature artworks. Embroidered beads and clasps made from amethyst, green agate and golden obsidian lend the bags a festive, collectible quality.
The silhouettes range from cushion-shaped and spherical designs to cylindrical and rectangular forms. Among the highlights is the cylindrical Cabochon bag, crafted in burgundy-coloured calfskin and finished with a delicate chain. It is adorned with hessonite garnet cabochons, a hallmark of the Cartier style.

Emerald-green satin, navy tufted velvet, golden lurex and slate-coloured gadroon-patterned leather create a rich, after-dark aesthetic.
Innovation and technique remain central to the collection. The polygonal clutch bags feature a fully articulated fastening system used by Cartier since the 1920s. Made from satin and edged with Nile crocodile trim, the colour of which matches the cabochon-set clasp.

“These bags are designed like pieces of jewellery – sophisticated and festive evening accessories – which elegantly celebrate a certain lifestyle,” said Marlin Yuson, Creative Director of Accessories and Leather Goods. “They draw their inspiration from the Maison’s creative heritage, which we are reinventing by drawing on the tremendous expertise of our craftspeople, without whom none of this would be possible.”
The new pieces also pay tribute to Jeanne Toussaint, who was entrusted by Louis Cartier with responsibility for accessories from the early 1920s. From vanity cases and toiletry bags to evening bags, she cultivated a style all her own, and this collection continues to embody that exquisite elegance.
