New York Fashion Week is almost here. From February 11 to 16, over 60 runway shows and presentations will transform Manhattan into the epicenter of fashion, bringing together seasoned designers, rising talent, and industry insiders for six days of creativity.

After a year of major creative director changes, the calendar is packed with a slew of new debut collections. As the city has aimed to focus on nurturing new talent, there will also be a renewed focus on emerging designers, bringing new creativity to the fashion scene.

Starting off the week, Ralph Lauren will be hold a pre-NYFW show on 10 February, which will be an invite-only event. However, the runway show many have been anticipating one of the biggest debut’s of the season: Rachel Scott’s first collection for Proenza Schouler. The brand’s founders and co-creative directors, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, made one of last year’s most surprising moves, stepping down from their brand after 23 years at the helm to take over the reins at Loewe. Accordingly, Scott’s debut will be the first time another designer has ever created a collection for Proenza Schouler and the industry waits with bated breath to see where she will take this darling of the American fashion scene.

    Predictions

Early fashion weeks such as Dubai and Copenhagen have given us a helpful barometer on some of the bubbling trends for the upcoming season. The season has so far shown us a strong indicator of the silhouettes, textures, and hues set to soar for FW26, solidified by data and insights from trend forecasters. Some of the predicted trends include Textural richness and a continuation of luxurious fabrics, from shearling trims and velvet to lace layering and embellished detailing. Other predictions include bold silhouettes & volume, something that was prominent in the Grammys earlier this month. This includes exaggerated shoulders, and sculptural tailoring are trending in recent AW26 precedents.

In addition to fashion, beauty trends such as subtle blush tones and playful braid styles are anticipated to be featured this season.
