When It Counts Most: Public Voices Leading with Action, Not Just Words

    Zoe Bou Harb

In moments of crisis, words can raise awareness, but action creates change. Across different initiatives, public voices are stepping beyond visibility and using their platforms to deliver meaningful, tangible support to communities in need.

What is emerging is a collective shift toward responsibility, where influence is measured not only by reach, but by real impact.

    Delivering Immediate Relief

In Lebanon, where humanitarian needs continue to grow, relief efforts are being mobilised to address urgent shortages.

Through the efforts of the Yusra Mardini Foundation, in partnership with MAPS, essential food parcels are being delivered directly to vulnerable families. On the ground, teams are working tirelessly to reach displaced communities, offering critical support in a time of escalating need.

    Supporting Women and Families

Ensuring dignity and care for displaced women and girls remains a priority for many initiatives.

Nour Arida, through her brand Sorbe Skin, is collaborating with ANERA and the Lebanese Red Cross to provide access to safe sanitation spaces, an essential but often overlooked need in times of crisis.

Similarly, Girls of Lebanon unite women in efforts to support displaced families, providing essentials, warmth, and care to those who have lost access to basic resources.

    Turning Platforms Into Purpose

Beyond direct aid, some public figures are choosing to leverage their visibility to strengthen local communities.

Every Wednesday, Rym Saidi and Wissam Breidy dedicate their platforms to highlighting small and local businesses, amplifying emerging brands, supporting local talent, and encouraging their audiences to engage with purpose.

Meanwhile, Karen Wazen Collection is contributing through donations in support of Girls of Lebanon, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in times of need.

What connects these efforts is not just generosity, but intention. A shared understanding that visibility carries responsibility, and that platforms, when used thoughtfully, can become powerful tools for change. In times like these, action matters more than ever. And through coordinated efforts, partnerships, and a commitment to giving back, public voices are helping transform uncertainty into support, and support into hope.
