Fendi Baguette Re-Edition 2026: A New Expression of Identity
The new Baguette 26424 Re-Edition will be celebrated at Milano Design Week 2026 with a selection of iconic versions available at Palazzo FENDI Milano Boutique from April 17th.
For Maria Grazia Chiuri’s FENDI FW26-27 debut collection the Baguette goes back to its roots featuring the number 26424: the very first model codeassigned to the bag since its creation in 1997, the icon of the House re-affirms its spirit and identity with a softer construction and enhanced under-the-arm wearability.

The collection comprises twenty designs, with six being Milan city exclusives, first unveiled during the Fall/Winter 2026-27 Show in February, that draw inspiration from the FENDI archive. The bags will have a unique Re-Edition metal tag and will come in a special wooden box, reminiscent of art crates and customised with stencil prints, fastened with a yellow canvas belt and metal logo buckle.

The distinctive packaging inspires a captivating window display for the Milano Design Week 2026, narrating the journey of FENDI’s masterpiece, the Baguette.
Suspended crates on a conveyor system reveal archival Baguette versions via a video installation, evoking the precision and rhythm of FENDI’s atelier. The visual narrative progresses with crates transported and artfully arranged atop scaffolding and wooden pallets. Finally, the Baguette is revealed within its crate as a coveted collectible, as an artwork in an exhibition, transforming and elevating the transport packaging into a symbolic vessel of heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation.

"I have a purse full of cookies, those with little notes inside. I stole them from the restaurant," says Marilyn Monroe to Truman Capote (A Beautiful Child*). They are on South Street pier, she without makeup, hair wrapped in a chiffon scarf. No one recognizes her. Perfectly anonymous, Marilyn feeds the seagulls, she loves feeding seagulls, that's why she stole the cookies. As a perfect anonymous, she looks at shop windows, complaining that she never had a home of her own, and imagining the day she will have one: "I'll get a dozen pendulum clocks and line them up in a room and make them tick all together."

To re-launch this bag today, to multiply the versions, is to say that every woman can be what she wants: there are no models, let's invent models ourselves. But above all, girls, because fashion is not just a market but a message for everyone, not just an object of desire, but an idea that propagates personality does not win over beauty, personality is beauty.

The greatest beauty, the freest: sparkling, severe, rigorous, crazy, flamboyant, chaotic, orderly, phosphorescent, crooked, exaggerated, rude, shameless. And so: if someone asked you who I really am, what would you answer?
