A Journey Through Time: Van Cleef & Arpels Reveals Fascinating Egypt
Van Cleef & Arpels journeys through the mysteries of ancient Egypt with Fascinating Egypt, its latest High Jewelry collection. Drawing inspiration from one of history's most enduring civilizations, the Maison reinterprets Egypt's mythology, architecture, landscapes, and symbols through a contemporary lens, bringing together exceptional gemstones, remarkable craftsmanship, and imaginative storytelling.
“For many years, the Maison Van Cleef & Arpels, so inspired by Egypt in the 1920s, has wished to prolong the story and present its own vision of this ancient heritage.”- Catherine Renier, President and CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels.

At the heart of the collection lies a vibrant gemstone palette. Rubies, sapphires, emeralds, diamonds, lapis lazuli, turquoise, and rock crystal are combined in compositions inspired by Egyptological illustrations, cinema, and the rich visual language of ancient Egypt. Each stone has been carefully selected by the Maison's gemologists, continuing a tradition of expertise that has defined Van Cleef & Arpels since 1906.

Among the collection's standout creations is the Beauté légendaire necklace, inspired by the breastplate jewels worn by Egyptian royalty. The flexible masterpiece centers around a spectacular 10.02-carat Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond, framed by diamonds and accented with sapphire details concealed within a lotus-inspired clasp.

The collection also celebrates Egyptian mythology through sculptural clips. The Bénou Mystérieux, Griffon Mystérieux, and Bastet Mystérieuse clips reinterpret legendary figures including the Bennu bird, a griffin-like sphinx, and Bastet, the feline goddess and protector of the home. Rendered in three dimensions, these miniature works of art combine Mystery Set gemstones, lapis lazuli, turquoise, diamonds, and precious metals to create captivating creatures rich in symbolism.

The designs draw inspiration from a wide range of Egyptian motifs, from sacred animals and deities to hieroglyphs, temple architecture, celestial symbols, and the natural beauty of the Nile. Rather than offering literal reproductions, Van Cleef & Arpels reinterprets these elements through a modern and imaginative perspective, creating pieces that feel both timeless and contemporary.

Equally impressive is the collection's emphasis on craftsmanship. Intricate goldwork, sculpted details, engraving techniques, and the Maison's signature Mystery Set technique demonstrate the remarkable savoir-faire that defines Van Cleef & Arpels. Every detail has been meticulously considered, with artisans working to create pieces that balance technical complexity with elegance and wearability.

Throughout the collection, themes of transformation, storytelling, and discovery emerge. Ancient symbols are reimagined as graphic motifs, architectural forms become wearable works of art, and mythological references are brought to life through vibrant color and three-dimensional design. The result is a collection that captures both the grandeur of Ancient Egypt and the creative freedom that has long characterized the Maison.

The collection culminates with the Nuit étoilée table clock, an extraordinary objet d'art inspired by the celestial ceilings of ancient Egyptian temples. Crafted from lapis lazuli and gold, the secret clock conceals its dial behind pivoting doors, combining decorative artistry with mechanical ingenuity.

With Fascinating Egypt, Van Cleef & Arpels once again demonstrates its ability to transform history into high jewelry. The collection is not merely a tribute to ancient Egypt, but a celebration of imagination, craftsmanship, and the enduring power of storytelling through precious stones.
