“True transformation begins when we listen to the quietest voice within us, the one that knows who we are meant to be,” says Ani Han in a calm, quiet voice.

This statement of belief echoes through Han’s life and work. An artist and jewellery designer, her journey from the disciplined world of banking in Armenia to design in Dubai is a testament to the power of listening to that inner voice.

In her hands, noble materials transform into more than just objects of adornment – they become symbols of personal evolution and exploration.

Han’s story is one of metamorphosis, driven by a desire to live authentically. Before she found her calling as a jeweller and designer, she spent years in crisis management, navigating the high stakes of the banking sector with precision and skill. Yet, despite her success, a void lingered. “I felt like I was drifting away from who I really was,” Han reflects. It was a quiet voice, but persistent in whispering to her to seek a life that resonated with her true self.

This search for deeper meaning in life led the artist to mindfulness, a practice that would become a part of a pivotal moment in her life. Through meditation and self-reflection, she began to peel away the layers of societal expectations and rediscover her creativity.

This newfound clarity led to a radical career shift. She left the banking world behind and embraced her true passion: design. The desire to create beautiful objects full of life pushed her to launch her brand, Enso Design Lab (@enso.design.lab). True to herself, the company marries mindfulness with aesthetics, while producing pieces that are not only visually stunning but also carry a deeper significance.

“Mindfulness is more than just a concept,” she explains. “It’s a tool that helps us find ourselves and avoid wasting time living someone else’s life. Her work is a study in contrasts, much like the city she now calls home. Dubai, with its blend of ancient tradition and cutting-edge innovation, provides the perfect backdrop for Han’s creations. She finds inspiration in the city’s duality, where the desert meets the sea, tradition coexists with modernity, and cultures melt together.

Using a butterfly as a metaphor, she describes the process of change as one of shedding old skins to become something new, something beautiful. “Dubai is a place where you can explore new ideas while staying connected to your roots,” the designer says, her eyes lighting up as she speaks. “It’s a city that embraces both the past and the future, and that resonates deeply with me.”

One recurring symbol in Han’s work following this ethos is a simple, complete circle. Representing the perfection found in imperfection, the circle is drawn in a single, unbroken stroke. “It’s about freeing your mind,” she explains, “and letting your body create.” In a world inundated with information, where creativity can easily be stifled by external pressures, the circle serves as a reminder to trust oneself and embrace the singularity of our individuality.

As her brand continues to grow, Han remains deeply committed to the principles that have guided her from the beginning. She collaborates with artisans from around the world, choosing to work with skilled craftspeople who share her dedication to quality and ethical practices. Whether it’s a ring crafted in Bali or a necklace made in India, each piece is a testament to the power of mindful creation.
