Autumn 2025 Beauty Trend: Runway to Red Carpet

    Lindsay Judge

Your guide to this season’s most defining runway and celebrity-inspired makeup trends

    Satin Skin

After years of glass-skin gloss and matte maximalism, complexion has found its middle ground. On the runways of Prada, Hermès, and Victoria Beckham, makeup artists favoured light-reflective, skin-like finishes that move with the face.

Zendaya has perfected this understated glow, seen recently with softly diffused foundation, sheer highlighter, and a flush of peach blush. In the Middle East, Rym Saidi mirrors this polished luminosity, often choosing radiant skin with natural definition over full-coverage formulas.

    The Berry Stain

This season’s lip trend, seen at Valentino, Saint Laurent, and Chanel, reimagines red as something more romantic and diffused. Berry stains and rich hues bring warmth and sophistication without overpowering.

Selena Gomez brought this look to the red carpet in Venice with a deep plum lip paired with soft, shimmery eyes, while Tara Emad has worn her own version with light berry tones for a casual look.

    Espresso Eyes

Brown eyes are making a statement this season. From Fendi to Schiaparelli, the classic smoky eye has been replaced with softer espresso shades that flatter every skin tone.

Hailey Bieber often wears this look with smudged brown liner and glossed lids, giving it a relaxed, model-off-duty finish. Meanwhile, Nadine Njeim adds a regional twist, pairing rich mocha shadow with fluttering lashes and a touch of bronze highlighter.

    Matchy Matchy

For day-to-day wear, the biggest shift this season is tonal balance, matching eyes, lips, and cheeks in cohesive, soft hues. Seen across Bottega Veneta, Miu Miu, and Altuzarra, this approach is minimal but elevated.

Florence Pugh brought it to life on the red carpet with monochrome rose tones, while Dorra Zarrouk reimagines it in soft nudes and coral hues for her daytime appearances.

    Sleek Hair, Fresh Face

The runways of Gabriela Hearst and Ferragamo confirmed what the red carpet has already embraced: sleek hair is back. When paired with natural makeup, it reads as ultra-modern and feminine.

Dua Lipa’s slick, centre-parted styles paired with brushed-up brows and flushed cheeks embody this new minimal-luxury aesthetic. Meanwhile, Margot Robbie often balances structured hair with luminous, pared-back makeup.

    Modern Liner

One of the most wearable trends from the Dior and Chanel runways is the modern liner. Sharp yet minimal, it’s designed to elongate rather than exaggerate. It’s graphic, but understated.

Lila Moss has redefined this look on the international fashion circuit with her clean wing and bare lashes, while Balqees Fathi adapts it regionally with subtle shimmer and tightlining that adds drama without heaviness.
