From record-breaking award wins to standout red carpet moments, we reveal the highlights of the night
The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles was not only a celebration of television’s finest but also a showcase of red-carpet fashion. From record-breaking wins to unforgettable style moments, the night proved why the Emmys remain one of Hollywood’s most anticipated events of the year.
When it came to the night’s big winners, UK-based limited series, Adolescence, swept the competition, taking home six trophies, including Best Limited Series, Best Director, Best Leading Actor and Best Writer. Rising talent, 15-year-old Owen Cooper made history as the youngest male Emmy winner in a supporting category, cementing his place as one of the industry’s brightest new stars.

The Pitt surprised many by winning Outstanding Drama Series, while The Studio set a new record with 13 comedy awards in a single season, including Best Comedy Series and Best Comedy Actor for Seth Rogen.
Streaming platforms Apple TV+ and Netflix also continued their dominance, showcasing the power of digital platforms in shaping today’s television landscape.

Of course, much of the spotlight fell on the red carpet, where celebrities stepped out with bold fashion statements. Selena Gomez dazzled in a cherry-red Louis Vuitton gown with a dramatic cape, styled with ruby and diamond jewellery for a touch of Old Hollywood glam.

Scarlett Johansson glowed in a butter-yellow Prada gown, Sydney Sweeney stunned in Oscar de la Renta, and Aimee Lou Wood made her Emmys debut in a romantic pale-pink Alexander McQueen gown with a rose-petal train.

Stars also used the night to pay a subtle tribute to the late Giorgio Armani, whose passing last week may have inspired some of the fashion choices. Cate Blanchett turned heads in a black velvet Armani jumpsuit, complete with structured shoulders and a dramatic bow, striking the perfect balance of edge and elegance. Blanchett, Kristen Bell, Leslie Bibb, and Anna Sawai honoured his legacy in timeless Armani designs.

Other standout looks included BlackPink’s Lisa in Lever Couture paired with Bvlgari jewellery, Michelle Williams in Chanel Couture, and Sarah Paulson in Marc Jacobs.

In regional achievements, Dubai-based Egyptian designer Marmar Halim dressed Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel in a shimmering silver gown from the brand’s Pre-Fall 2025 collection. Bledel’s dazzling look was complemented by a sweet reunion on the red carpet with her co-star Lauren Graham, who opted for timeless sophistication in a sleek black gown by Akris.
From bold colours and dramatic silhouettes, the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards delivered unforgettable moments. The best-dressed stars set the tone for the awards season ahead.
