Boucheron’s “Or Bleu” High Jewellery Collection can transform just like water

Boucheron's "Or Bleu" collection captures the essence of Icelandic water through 26 transformative pieces, including the stunning "Cascade" necklace. Creative Director Claire Choisne's vision pushes the boundaries of traditional craftsmanship.
Boucheron's Carte Blanche series returns with "Or Bleu," a collection inspired by the raw beauty and power of Icelandic waters, crafted under the visionary direction of Claire Choisne. Combining age-old techniques with cutting-edge technology, "Or Bleu" exemplifies Boucheron's commitment to innovation, capturing the essence of water through unconventional materials in a series of 26 breathtaking pieces.
"Eau d'Encre" and "Eau Forte" depict the duality of Icelandic waters. Deep obsidian, a volcanic rock, embodies the inky blackness of some waters in "Eau d'Encre." "Eau Forte," in contrast, utilises a traditional technique to etch white gold with a wave design, creating a shimmering counterpoint.
Black sand finds new life in "Sable Noir." A 3D printing technique meticulously binds sand particles together, creating a lightweight yet durable material that shimmers with diamonds. This innovative approach breathes life into a natural element, transforming it into a piece of wearable art.
The "Écume" rings showcase the power of contrast. One ring features obsidian, while the other uses rock crystal. Both capture the essence of foaming waves, highlighting the Maison's ability to manipulate even the most seemingly disparate materials.
Nature's artistry takes centre stage in "Ciel de Glace." Here, rock crystal, carved with the undulating textures of Iceland's ice caves, is paired with a gradient of blue sapphires, creating an icy masterpiece. This piece exemplifies Boucheron's ability to translate the raw beauty of nature into a luxurious jewel.
Innovation meets functionality in "Eau Vive" shoulder brooches. Crafted from lightweight aluminium and dipped in palladium for added shine, these statement pieces showcase the Maison's willingness to experiment with new materials while prioritising comfort.
Similar ingenuity defines "Banquise." Here, Grand Antique marble, a subtly veined marble, is used to create rings and earrings that capture the essence of Iceland's ice floes. This unconventional material, paired with diamonds, adds a touch of organic luxury to the collection.
The fleeting beauty of Iceland's "Diamond Beach" is captured by a necklace and earrings that mimic the interplay of light and transparency on the ice sculptures. Innovation takes centre stage as sandblasting creates a frosted texture on rock crystal, perfectly replicating the surface of an iceberg.
Boucheron's "Or Bleu" collection is an artistic exploration of water in all its forms. By embracing innovation and unconventional materials, Claire Choisne and her team redefine the art of jewellery making, offering wearers the chance to adorn themselves with the raw beauty and power of the natural world.
