British musician Anoushka Shankar has joined the Tanweer Festival line-up
The sitar player will be at the Sharjah-based festival in November
Tanweer Festival has just announced British-American musican Anoushka Shankar is joining the line-up.
The Grammy-nominated sitarist and composer will headline day two of the festival, taking place from 21st to the 23rd November in the beautiful Mleiha desert.

Known for her musical prowess that transcends borders, Shankar has spent over two decades mixing Indian classical music with flamenco, electronica, and global sounds. Audiences can expect a unique sounding performance that fuses tradition with modern music.
Shankar is the latest name to join the programme. At the festival, you will also be able to see Aya Khalaf, singer and educator, Iranian maestro Sohrab Pournazeri who will take the stage alongside vocalist Sahar Boroujerdi.
With its growing regional reputation, Tanweer Festival is not just a music event, instead it is a global gathering of creative energy. In just its second year, it has become a cultural beacon in the UAE.
