Chanel Fall Winter Haute Couture Show : Where fairytales meet everyday elegance
Matthieu Blazy’s debut Haute Couture collection for Chanel transforms Gabrielle Chanel’s love of storytelling into a celebration of craftsmanship, imagination and the realities of modern womanhood.
Inspired by a book discovered in the library of Gabrielle Chanel, Matthieu Blazy created a haute couture collection that tells a story much like just the fairy tale many of us grew up reading. The collection blurs the lines between fiction and function, combining whimsical storytelling with wearable design.

Chanel’s word-class Haute couture craftsmanship remains at the heart of the collection. The exceptional work of the House’s artisans is showcased through the intricate embroidery, pleating and fabric making extending across garments, millinery, jewellery and footwear.

The show opens with a model carrying the very book that inspired the collection. As each look unfolds, the stories leap from its pages into the clothes themselves. A delicate cine winds its way up the heel of the shoe, while a series of buttons transforms from a duckling into a swan, bringing fairytale motifs to life through exquisite craftsmanship.

The collection elevates everyday objects through the use of noble materials, reimaging them at the heights of haute couture. Purposeful impressions are embraced, writing the latest chapter in Chanel’s Haute Couture story.

As Matthieu Blazy explains, “Haute couture at Chanel is not just a fairy tale; in essence it is for the women, their realities and their adventures of the everyday.”
