Chanel has appointed Lucia Pieroni as its new Creative Makeup Director, marking a new chapter for the House’s beauty division.

Pieroni joins Chanel in September 2026, working alongside the Makeup Creation Studio and reporting to Simona Cattaneo, President of Fragrance & Beauty.

Known for an approach to beauty that celebrates individuality, Pieroni brings decades of experience across fashion, editorial and beauty. Her career began in London before she moved to New York in 1995, where she worked with leading contemporary artists and renowned fashion and beauty photographers. Originally trained as a painter, that creative background has continued to shape the way she approaches makeup.

From 2006 to 2019, Pieroni served as Creative Director of Makeup at Clé de Peau Beauté, before continuing to work across fashion shows, editorials and campaigns alongside photographers and designers.

Her relationship with Chanel has already begun. Pieroni has worked alongside Matthieu Blazy since his first collection as Artistic Director of Fashion Activities in October 2025, creating beauty looks that complement his vision for the House.

Speaking about the appointment, Pieroni described joining Chanel as “a great honour”, adding that she looks forward to bringing her artistic vision to the House and helping shape its next chapter in makeup.

With Pieroni now officially stepping into the role of Creative Makeup Director, Chanel enters its next beauty chapter with an artist already closely connected to the creative direction of the House.
