The couple married in an intimate civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on August 11, surrounded by their children. The date held an added significance: exactly one year earlier, Rodríguez had announced their engagement with a photograph of an impressive diamond ring.

Their story began almost a decade ago in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working as a sales assistant at Gucci when she first crossed paths with the footballer. By January 2017, they had made their first official appearance as a couple at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich, beginning a relationship that has since unfolded in front of a global audience.
