From mixed metals to vintage pieces – These are the jewellery trends shaping 2026

As we start thinking about what to wear for the upcoming Ramadan season, jewellery becomes an essential part of our outfits.

This year, jewellery trends are leaning towards personalised luxury, featuring chunky gold, and sustainable designs. Key trends include mixed-metal stacking, sculptural oversized earrings, coloured gemstones and vintage-inspired designs that blend traditional influences with modern luxury.

    Mixing gold and silver

Mixed metals continue to shape jewellery trends, with yellow, white, and rose gold appearing in stacked rings and layered necklaces. In 2026, the mixed-metal ring has evolved beyond a statement into a refined design trend, with bands in gold and silver finished in contrasting textures to create depth and dimension. The same trend carries through to necklaces, where combining gold and silver chains creates a cohesive, versatile style that transitions effortlessly from day to night.

    Statement Earrings

This trend goes hand-in-hand with the rise of chunky metals. Statement stud earrings are appearing everywhere, from runways to the Grammy's, typically either defined by bold, sculptural designs that draw attention. The look gained momentum with Bottega’s Large Drop Earrings, which gained popularity last year and has since cemented the trend. Now reimagined in a range of materials and finishes, from gold and silver to rose gold, these earrings have become an easy way to elevate everyday style.

    Vintage

Vintage jewellery is back in focus, and the signs have been building for some time. Last year’s runways offered early clues, from Prada’s knitted necklaces embroidered with coloured glass to Valentino’s striking seashell designs. Cartier’s 2025 reinvention of Aldo Cipullo’s 1969 Love bracelet further signalled how luxury brands are turning to the past for inspiration, a trend that has continued into 2026.

That was more evident than ever at the Wuthering Heights premiere in London last week, where Margot Robbie donned bespoke earrings by London-based jeweller Jessica McCormack, set with garnets, diamonds and pearls, alongside a four-carat ruby ring. She completed the styling with two vintage Boucheron brooches: a 1900 design featuring twin Valkyrie heads framing a cushion-cut garnet, and a ruby and gold Assyrian lion from 1920.

It’s a reminder that vintage jewellery doesn’t just sparkle in history, it continues to shape the present. And right now, the trend is more popular than ever.

Sustainable pieces and making conscious choices

Now more than ever, people are concerned about where their gemstones come from and how their jewelry pieces are made. Growing awareness of ethical sourcing, the environmental impact of traditional mining practices, and labor practices is shaping how they make their choices. It’s why some favour lab-grown diamonds over natural  as responsible sourcing are becoming non-negotiables in fine jewellery. Dubai-based brand By Mystique jewellery is a good example of that, using 100% recycled gold and ethically sourced diamonds and gemstones. Other jewellery brands include MKS jewellery is designed by the granddaughter of UAE President, H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Khalifa bin Saif Al Nahyan. She draws upon her Emirati heritage for inspiration in the MKS Jewellery collections, which are made of responsibly sourced and raw materials.
