Gingham makes a stylish return for the season with a royal seal of approval

Loved by Queen Rania, Sheikha Moza, and the Princess of Wales, this trend is set to rule Summer 2025

Gingham is making a glorious comeback for Summer 2025, already turning heads and winning over its loyal following, which includes royals and celebrities alike. It’s an effortlessly elegant trend that refuses to go out of style. From soft neutrals and romantic pinks to classic picnic reds and fresh garden greens, there’s a shade to suit every mood and moment.

Princess Beatrice of York served a chic summer moment in a bright bubblegum pink gingham set at the Royal Ascot. Her ensemble featured a belted jacket with voluminous bishop sleeves and oversized buttons down the centre, perfectly paired with a matching midi skirt in the same playful print. The look gave us a major 90s throwback to when Princess Diana famously wore gingham for a service at St Paul’s Cathedral—a timeless royal fashion echo we can’t help but love.

The first to be spotted rocking the print in 2025 was Her Highness Sheikha Moza, the mother of the Emir of Qatar. The ever-elegant Sheikha stepped out last May in a vintage Valentino archive look in soft green, perfectly complementing her Parisian salon setting.

In recent years, the Princess of Wales has been known to favour the elegant print, often seen sporting both casual and formal ensembles in fresh, uplifting hues.

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan also gave us a gingham moment back in 2018, stepping out in an elegant pink gingham skirt that would be right at home in this summer’s wardrobe. The Queen styled it effortlessly with a crisp white blouse, adding an elevated touch of modern grace to the look.
