How to Spend World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day is on 10 October. It’s a good reminder to slow down and check in with yourself. You don’t need to do much.
Start slow. Keep your phone away for the first twenty minutes, have something warm to drink, and step outside for some daylight.
Move gently. A walk, an easy swim or a stretch is enough. Pick something you’ll enjoy, not something that wears you out.

Talk to someone. Call a friend or ask a colleague how they really are. If things feel heavy, speak to a doctor or therapist. A wellness studio can help you relax, but it isn’t a replacement for care.
Try a wellness studio. Choose one thing, like a restorative yoga class, a float or a massage. One calm session is better than a packed schedule.
Try sound healing. In a sound bath, you lie down while someone plays singing bowls, gongs and chimes for about an hour. Many people find it deeply relaxing, and some small studies suggest it helps people feel less tense. It’s a relaxation practice, not a cure, so be wary of anyone promising more.

No studio? Do it at home. Dim the lights, play a long ambient track, lie down for twenty minutes, and go to bed early.
Pick one of these habits and keep it going after today. Small, regular care does more than one big day.
Here are some wellness spots across Dubai to help you reconnect with yourself.
