Inside the Pre-Fall Fashion Rule Book
As we move from spring/summer to autumn/winter, the transition period itself cannot be overlooked. From the high summer fluidity to heavy winter weights, make the transition in style as we highlight four trends that define the pre-fall season.

Funnel Neck Jackets and Structural Collars
With exaggerated necklines and structured elegance, funnel-neck jackets are making a comeback. Replacing notched lapels with a high-standing neck, brands like Isabel Marant, Khaite, and Kallmeyer are bringing back the trend. The jacket frames the face effortlessly, exuding power and confidence.
How to Style: Let the jacket be the focal point of the look by pairing it with a minimalist bottom. A sweeping skirt or a satin midi skirt, sharp kitten heels, and a slouchy designer tote will help pull the look together, looking effortlessly chic.

Midi Skirts with a Slit
Saint Laurent kept to its roots, with Anthony Vaccarello's take on feminine expression exploring freedom and sensuality. The collection featured dainty, ornate, and lace-incorporated midi skirts that are definitely a keep for the pre-fall season.
How to Style: Pair the midi skirt with a chunky or voluminous top or sweater. A pencil heel along with a small, statement shoulder bag or clutch and understated earrings will complete the look that is casual yet elevated.

Zebra Stripes
Brands like Ganni and Gucci showcased subtle integration of zebra stripes through clothing and accessories. The pattern either makes the outfit or elevates it for a casual everyday look. With versatile styling options, zebra stripes might just be the staple you need in your wardrobe this season.
How to Style: Pair the zebra-striped clothing with accessories in contrasting colours, such as burgundy or maroon. Don’t overdo the pattern; stick to subtle integrations for everyday looks. The pattern can also be integrated into the look through accessories, such as carrying a zebra-striped bag along with blue jeans and a casual maroon top.

Jewel Tones
The season is also tapping into rich, highly saturated colour tones that exude confidence, a step back from minimalist beige tones. Brands like Valentino and Tom Ford made use of jewel tones as accents to otherwise monochromatic looks.
How to Style: Similar to Tom Ford looks, choose a jewel-toned accent to spice up your regular, monochromatic looks. A deep blue shirt with black pants and a jacket, or an emerald green sweater with a long black skirt and a black structured clutch, all make for a vibrant yet understated vibe.
