A series celebrating women, who since making the UAE their home, have brought about positive change
Originally from Dublin, Niamh Keohan has always been obsessed with making sure everyone has the best possible holiday. Not surprising, given she worked for over two decades in the hospitality and luxury travel sectors.
Keohan, 44, moved to Dubai in 2008, and has held the position of Director of Marketing for both the Intercontinental Hotel Group and Jumeirah Group, as well as being the Director of Marketing and PR at the iconic Burj Al Arab. But it was the passing of her mother in 2019, and a life-changing trip of her own, that gave her the push to follow her dreams to create Dubai’s first meaningful travel-booking platform.

We Love Transformational Travel (WLTT), which launched in 2021, brings together wellness, health, fitness and spiritual retreats in one place, giving users a more tailored solution for their individual needs, be that menopause-relief holidays in the Philippines or creative writing retreats in Cuba.
“Transformational travel is about exploring the world in ways that expand our perspectives, deepen our connections, and ignite personal growth – while respecting the planet,” shares Keohan, who cites gorilla trekking in Rwanda as one of her favourite trips.

She goes on to say that her platform, which has seen quick success, is designed to help women on any kind of journey. “I believe everyone should have access to experiences that support them through different phases of life – whether that’s getting fitter and healthier, reducing stress and anxiety, overcoming grief, positively impacting the lives of others, building a career, or finding purpose.”
