The royals have been married for 32 years
Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania are celebrating their wedding anniversary today.
On this special day, Queen Rania took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message dedicated to her husband of 32 years.
“How could I not lean on your heart, when a whole nation finds its strength in you? With every passing year, may you remain my steadfast support and dearest companion,” she wrote in Arabic. In English, she added: “You’ll always be my home. Happy Anniversary.”
The post was accompanied by a tender photograph of the royal couple, taken at their residence in Aqaba, showing them in a quiet embrace — an image that reflects both their private bond and the public admiration they continue to inspire.
Needless to say, this royal couple have set the bar remarkably high. Now, more than three decades on, they are gracefully embracing a new chapter of their lives — one filled with the joys of grandparenthood. They welcomed their first granddaughter, Princess Iman bint Al Hussein, last August, followed by the arrival of little Amina earlier this year.
Abdullah and Rania wed on June 10, 1993, when he was still a prince. Their wedding, declared a national holiday, was held at Zahran Palace in Amman.
The couple welcomed their first child, Hussein, in June 1994, followed by daughter Iman in September 1996, daughter Salma in September 2000, and son Hashem in January 2005.
Abdullah ascended the throne on February 7, 1999, and Rania was officially proclaimed queen the following March.
