Rola Diab, Kate Instone, Morin Oluwole and Dr Sana Sajan on what empowerment means today

Four UAE expats share how empowerment takes shape in the choices they make, the spaces they create and the lives they transform

Empowerment means different things to different women. For some, it lies in dismantling the myths that hold us back. For others, it emerges in the spaces we create, the companies we build, or the hands we extend to those in need.

In this incredible shoot, four women – Rola Diab, Kate Instone, Morin Oluwole, and Dr Sana Sajan – each embody the many facets of empowerment.

For Rola Diab, empowerment begins within. An award-winning saleswoman, she walked away from the safety of corporate life to launch herself into coaching and public speaking. With her signature programme, The Conviction Code, she guides Fortune 500 leaders and entrepreneurs to shed limiting beliefs and embrace their personal convictions.

Designer Kate Instone understands power through design. As the founder of Blush International, she has redefined beautiful living in the UAE. Her philosophy of “mindful intentionality” has built a portfolio spanning homes, yachts, and aircraft, each project infused with her penchant for luxury.

For Morin Oluwole, power has meant knowing when to pivot. After 18 years at Meta, where she rose to lead the company’s global luxury division, she chose to step away. Today, she splits her time between Paris and Dubai, building a life that prioritises family while reshaping luxury through consulting.

And for Dr Sana Sajan, empowerment comes from giving back. A doctor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, she has dedicated her career to supporting both women and children, with ambitions that include establishing a unique boarding school in the UAE for children of working mothers.

Together, these women remind us that real power doesn’t fit a single mould…
