Prada is once again bringing sartorial drama to the cinema. Ritual Identities is its latest campaign film that celebrates the iconic Prada Galleria handbag.

Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Scarlett Johansson, the surreal narrative explores a trippy list of rituals required to create self.

Following last year’s Jonathan Glazer-directed short, the 2025 iteration sees Johansson reimagined through Lanthimos’s instantly recognisable visual language.

The actor moves through the scenes with eerie confidence, collecting different things from around the city before returning home to feed her handbag into a giant grey ball.

Here, the handbag becomes more than an accessory. It’s a totem that bridges the ordinary and the extraordinary. Much like Johansson’s shifting personas in the film, it could be said that the Galleria continuously reinvents itself too.
