What to expect at Milan Fashion Week
Lisa Amnegard
After hosting the Milano-Cortina Olympics, Milan returns to its role as a fashion capital, this time bringing some of the season’s most exciting debut collections to the runway.
Milan has been in the spotlight all winter. After hosting the Milano-Cortina Olympics, which saw luxury brands open exclusive pop-ups featuring chic alpine wear across the city and in the surrounding resorts, Italy’s fashion capital is once again turning its focus to its flagship fashion event. Milan Fashion Week opens Tuesday and runs through March 2, with more than 50 runway shows and presentations taking place across the city.
Organised by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Milan Fashion Week’s Autumn/Winter 2026 calendar is structured around a mix of runway shows and presentations, many of them unfolding simultaneously across the city.
Italian powerhouses such as Prada, Ferragamo, Roberto Cavalli and Bottega Veneta will present their latest collections, but much of the focus will be on the season’s anticipated creative director debuts. Among the most closely watched will be Demna’s first collection for Gucci, Meryll Rogge’s debut at Marni and Maria Grazia Chiuru who will debut her first collection for Fendi.
The week will also shine a light on emerging talent through the LVMH Prize, one of the industry’s most sought-after honours for young designers. Two of this year’s semifinalists include Luca Lin of ACT N1 and Galib Gassanoff of Institution, who are set to show in Milan during the week.
