Art Talk “Arab Cinema: Mending Land, Body, and Image"
ArtDep is hosting an art talk exploring Arab cinema, scheduled for September 12th at Cabinet of Curiosity in Al Quoz. The talk features speaker Nezar Andary exploring how Arab filmmakers have been challenging the long-standing Arab visual tropes. Art Talk “Digging the Roots: The Secret Lives of Things”
Taking place on September 19th at 6 PM at the Cabinet of Curiosity in Al Quoz, speaker Mariia Volodchenko explores what transforms an old object into a true antique by examining its hidden history, journey, and role as a historical witness. Hosted inside an antique gallery, the event also marks the opening of Artdep’s new season, with partner gifts, catering, and special surprises for the attendees. For Theatrical Spectacles
The Marriage of Figaro Ballet at Dubai Opera
Celebrating its 10th anniversary season and honouring the 270th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Dubai Opera hosts the Ukrainian National Ballet’s adaptation of The Marriage of Figaro. Featuring a libretto by Viktor Yaremenko and Yuri Stanishevsky with a special musical edition by Oleksiy Baklan, the production reimagines one of opera’s greatest comic masterpieces into a captivating ballet experience. The production runs between September 17th and 19th.
Romeo and Juliet at New Covent Garden Theatre
Taking place on 27th September, the Barcelona Flamenco Ballet will present a powerful, contemporary interpretation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, reimagining the tragedy through the language of flamenco. With explosive choreography and delicate moments, the production blends intense rhythm, expressive movement, and emotional depth.
