Cultural Connection Exhibition is running until September 29th
As one of Dubai’s foremost luxury hotels and a pillar of architectural and cultural excellence, ME Dubai is running the race for creativity and innovation. This year, in response to the growing demand for spaces that blend art, culture, and fashion, the hotel has introduced the Cultural Connection Exhibition.
In collaboration with the Arab Fashion Council for Dubai Fashion Week, the exhibition serves as a platform to celebrate the region’s diverse artistic heritage while offering guests an immersive cultural experience. With Dubai emerging as a global fashion hub, ME Dubai recognises the importance of nurturing local talent and showcasing the rich narratives that define the Middle East's fashion landscape.
At the heart of this initiative is Zaid Farouki, a Dubai-based Palestinian-Jordanian designer celebrated for his innovative approach to fashion. Since launching his namesake label in 2015, Farouki has captivated the fashion world with his blend of art, culture, and contemporary design.
His couture pieces, often hand-painted and intricately embroidered, transcend the boundaries of fashion, creating a seamless bridge between tradition and modernity. Farouki's use of unique materials, including fabrics made entirely from paint and 3D-printed sculptures such as crowns, pays homage to his Arabic heritage, with personal touches like his middle name Taji, meaning "my crown."
ME Dubai’s Cultural Connection Exhibition, set against the stunning backdrop of Zaha Hadid’s futuristic architecture, offers a unique environment for such artistic expression. ME Dubai is the first ME by Meliá in the Middle East designed by the late and renowned architect Dame Zaha Hadid. ME Dubai is in The Opus building.
The only hotel project where she has personally designed the interiors and exteriors. ME Dubai is situated in the heart of the Burj Khalifa district, one of the city’s most vibrant areas. The property consists of 93 rooms and suites across four floors. The legacy hotel presents Central Cosmo Tapas and Bar as the owned dining option. The hotel has positioned this exhibition as an essential part of its broader vision to create synergies between architecture, art, and fashion, enhancing the cultural vibrancy of Dubai.
Running throughout September until the 29th, Zaid Farouki’s exhibition is open to both hotel guests and visitors alike. Visitors can expect to immerse themselves in a carefully curated showcase of couture pieces that highlight the intersection of art and fashion. To experience this unique event, visitors can book a tour or walk through the exhibition daily at ME Dubai, located in the heart of Dubai’s bustling Business Bay.
